There’s a Chinese proverb that reads, “Sour, sweet, bitter, pungent – all must be tasted!” I am a person of many passions, the result of nurturing a voracious curiosity in life that I’ve tried to temper—I really have!—if only to learn more about a few things instead of a little about a whole lot of things. Particularly, I am passionate about writing, photography, current events (especially Canadian politics), travel, natural health, Canadian artists of all shapes, and music though my tastes are very eclectic ranging from R&B to trip-hop to country and back again.
I never sing the right words to songs.
I am vivacious, have family values, and a kickass, rather sexy sense of humour. I am a published author, a translator by profession, and I completed my degree in French-to-English translation in April 2006. I'm trying to figure out what to do with my life, and always keeping my options open—maybe full-time, permanent work as a translator, maybe teaching English overseas, a Masters' in Translation, or maybe a college diploma in holistic nutrition.
I love nature, the outdoors, the smell of campfires. I am a total girl that doesn’t mind digging in and getting dirty. I’m sporty but prefer low-impact sports, like squash, baseball, soccer, field hockey, though I confess I’m not especially good at any of them. I like being able to pick up and travel—whether across town or across the world. I love grocery shopping, appreciating fine wines (though not necessarily expensive ones), decadent desserts. I believe in working hard. I am spontaneous and self-effacing. Sometimes stubborn and sarcastic, too. I’m not afraid to compromise or enjoy my own company. I’m offbeat.

Oh man, I love grocery shopping, too. One of life’s woefully underrated pleasures.
I also love your quote about not being afraid to enjoy your own company – so few people realize just how enlightening that time can be!
The thing that stands out most in my mind, though, is the fact that you aren’t afraid to keep things REAL. Very refreshing. Very cool.
