New short story.
I wrote the basic premise back in May and then finally picked it back up last weekend in the hopes of hammering out a few more words and possibly–hopefully–finishing and putting an ending to it. It’s inspired by exaggerating the mannerisms of a real person but I’ll never tell who, except to say that none of my current friends have ever met her. It’s a commentary based on the idea that hungry people are uncivilized people (à la Marie Antoinette’s “let them eat cake”).
I’m not sure how I feel about it as a piece of writing because it’s different from how I usually write–though perhaps that’s a good thing and not necessarily a bad one.
We’ll see. You can find it here. Hope you like it.
** PS. “goinfrerie” is a French term meaning “piggishness” or “piggery”.
