For a while now, I’ve been toying with the idea of moving my blog.
I also debated whether to leave all my old posts at Xanga – but that’s exactly what they are: ‘old’. Past. Former. I started that blog when I was in my mid-teens (and later moved to a different space, before returning to the former bfa blog), so many things have changed. I’ve changed, and as much as I both relish and regret parts of the transformation, I can’t take them back.
I find the old interface too cluttered, chaotic. Hard to navigate. There’s way too much going on for my scatterbrain to process. I really do prefer a sleeker, streamlined feel. Blogging shouldn’t be about advertising, cheap gimmicks to attract readership, or watery autobiographies of people you’ve never met and never will.
Blogging should focus on writing. And that’s what I intend to do here.
